Australian Country Dance Festival founded in 2002 and affectionately referred to as Mayworth by the line dancing population, has become the biggest line dance festival in Australia.  There is everything line dancing from workshop dancing catering to all levels, four nights of social dancing, the Australian Line Dance Ball & Awards, choreography, vendors and competition dancing (including the Australian Masters - this is the only event in Australia where you can qualify to dance at the World Dance Masters in Blackpool, England).  What more could you ask for?

Note from the Event Directors:

"While I know today’s date change back to the original dates took a lot of people by surprise, including us.

It was a decision that had to be made quickly and was a decision about do we have mayworth 2022 and celebrate 20 years? Do we celebrate that we held a great event in 2021 and that we have brought World Dance Masters, The Australian Masters, helped give opportunities to our dance community and helped bring some of Australia’s and the worlds best dancers to Tamworth, Australia over the past 20 years or do we sit this year out?

We couldn’t sit it out… so

We decided we take the date change and we celebrate, just like many other festivals there was no time to consult with everyone involved. We value everyone involved and we know this date won’t work for all but we can’t always please everyone … for the best result for our industry and to celebrate our industry, the Australian line dance festival… Mayworth and the Australian Line Dance Awards are back on their normal weekend.

April 28-May 1, 2022

And we hope to see you there, if you can’t make it we hope to see you on the dance floor soon supporting the amazing line dance events our country has to offer!

Chris & Gemma"
